Hi, I’m Sarah… I am drawn to the fragility of the natural world and often take inspiration from the flowers to create delicate artwork.
My work explores a variety of painting, drawing and hand embroidery. I often incorporate embroidery into watercolour paintings on paper, which can be interpreted as a form of ‘drawing with thread.’ This ‘experiment’ began during my time as a student, having been torn between a love of both Textiles and Fine Art. This process is careful and timely, but one I feel compliments the ideas surrounding my work.
Since graduating from Winchester School of Art in 2010, where I studied Fine Art, I have been working from my home studio in Eastleigh, Hampshire. I now have a range of original artwork available for sale, as well as limited prints and greetings cards. Since 2014 I have also had the privilege of working with the Alzheimer’s society, leading an Art group for people with Dementia.
